fender rub, coilovers on 1st gen

Well I went to an AutoX this weekend in my GSL-SE and had the coil-overs set just a hair to low... I managed to shine up the insde of the fender edge real nice with my tire. (which is now pretty much trashed because it got so chewed up, and Kuhmos ain't cheap)

My question is this. About what height do most of you run your spring perches at? I had it about halfway down and it worked fine on the street with 205/45-16 on 16x7, but when I ran the autoX I rubbed the crap outta my 13x8 235/45-13's. They didn't rub on turning, more on breaking, right at the top of the fender....

also, quick easy ways to paint the inner fender so it doesn't rust? Crap....

Info, GC coilovers, CC plates, illuminas (set on 5f/2r) and 350lb springs, but still stock sway bar (I know I know.. on the list.)

well ur springs are stiff enough. u just need more ride height. and ur fender lips must be rolled with a baseball bat. i run 225/45/13 with similar suspension and i don't get rub, here's apic

don't feel too bad about the tire. i but a BRAND NEW hoosier radial on and 25mins later spun out, popped it off the bead, and shreadded the sidewall on my rim lip. and that WAS my spare tire! kumhos are 2/3rd the cost of a hoosier boyeee!

Where did you guys find such fat 13 inch tires? The biggest I can find is 215/50/13 BF TA's.

Kuhmo's new R compound race tire, Kumho Ecsta V700... I got mine at tirerack...

I was running the Hoosier A3s03's but did a track day a month or so back, so I switched to the more durable.

I just raised the perches a tad, the logical way to solving the problem, where to you others guys have them set?

One of the best ways I have found is with a baseball bat and well placed whacks.
