FD ball joint failure at Solo Nationals

SportsCar's report on SCCA's Solo Nationals says Jake, Hamfisted Racing, "Namer suffered a catastrophic ball joint failure in his (SSM Class) 1993 RX-7". Jake, if you are here, or anyone, do you have any further details on that? Is this a fragile part of the FD's suspension when heavily autocrossed?

Cheers, Philip

I believe Jake is using custom control arms with aftermarket ball joints.

Hey, I am pretty sure Jake broke a stock ball joint. He replaced them with the super now parts from RHD japan ( I believe) . Also I have had the same failure in my SSM car. Once you put Sticky 315's in the front of the car it does take a toll on the front end components.
