FC Wiring question

I'm going to be stripping the wire harness as bare as I can, are there any things I should be weary of removing?

Ive never owned a running FC myself, so I'm not sure if there is anything wiring wise useful to keep in the idiot cluster, do you think any of it, or the oil level light is worth keeping, or just ditch it all?

Thanks,
Carl

If it's a race car and rules allow, rip every single last wire out and put your own wires in. Really not that bad, just time consuming but well worth it.

When i did my wire tuck i ditched most of the stuff. mine was easy b/c i have standalone(MT) so i didnt have a whole wiring harness to mess with. The only thing i got i believe is my oil lever sensor. I left that beacuse one of my buddys oil return wiggled loose and blew all the oil out of the motor in a matter of sec. and well you already know the turn out of that. I dont have the coolent sensors or nothing. just the oil is there. I think most people like us would check there fluids alot more frequently than your normal daily drivin automobile.

You mean the entire harness? I thought about doing that, or a painless harness or something..

Yes, throw away every wire on the car and start over. I spent about 50 hours (a little anal) and maybe $300 (?) and have very little to no electrical knowledge. What do you need to power? It's not much when you make a list. Get some high quality wire, solder the connections, and I used some wire harness tape found on eBay from Germany to wrap it all in along with Weather Pack connectors everywhere for easy removal. I don't think you need an oil level light, just an oil temp and pressure gauge. Checking the oil level before each race/session should be part of the checklist.
