FC turning problems.

I have a Fc for road race use.
When turning right and aceelerating the car wants to pull foward.

What can be causing this?
I have a stock posi rear end w/5.12 gears

What do you mean by pull forward? Is this an understeer/oversteer problem?

jose-rs1 11-10-05 03:03 PM

understeer, because it wont turn

Nihilanthic 11-10-05 03:06 PM

Alignment? Check your bushes/tie rod ends/ bla bla bla? Tire Pressures? It could be something that simple!

Corner weight, something binding, or more than likely - don't take offense - your driving.

broken swaybar endlink?

DamonB 11-10-05 03:41 PM

Only when turning right? It does not do the same thing when turning left?

I would check alignment, bushings, shocks, tie rods, rack bushings, also all of those issues on the rear end as well. also check the wheelbase left to right and track front to rear. I had a bad right turning car once that had the left side wheelbase 1.25" shorter than the right. would turn left like it was on a rail and understeered off the track going right. good luck.

shock are new koni.
front sway bar is new AWR speedway.
all bushing are teflon.
the eng is back 4'' so there is 50/50 weight,
springs I've traied lighter 550# are on now.
we race we kumho victoracers 700's size 245-45-17 @25#
so they shouls stick anywhere.
I will check the wheelbase ASAP.
Thanks

550 fronts I assume. I would use ~350 rears with those. A more complete description of the cars behavior would narrow it down, any one of these guys can hep with enough info. Carl

Thanks to you all, the wheelbase left-right was wrong by 1'' diff.
thanks Tim for poniting that out.
will practice this weekend to see what happens.

Good luck and be sure to check all the alignment specs before and during testing. things on race cars vibrate and come loose all the time.
