Are these quality .. anyone running them? Is the 345 shipped a good deal?

sub9lulu 06-10-07 10:58 PM

there are also racing beat sway and turbo / convertible sway bar, depends on how big do u want
side note, bigger =/= better
some people find the car better to control WITHOUT the rear sway

345 shipped is a pretty good price imo

yeah, i think its in ITS, the guys like it on the higher speed road race tracks w/o the rear swaybar.
car is less likely to spin I believe.

With the stock springs, the Racing Beat front and rear sways were very good for balancing the car, flattening out the cornering quite a bit.

With ground controls 440# springs front and 275 # springs in the rear, any rear sway bar turns my car into a drifter. With the rear sway bar removed and a Racing Beat front sway, the car is balanced enough to be tuned via ride height, tire pressures, and rear SA konis.

so what the consencus im hearing is that the rear wway is too solid for our cars ... i.e. it wouldnt allow enough flex in the rear for the car to grip appropriately around corners ... it would just slide it out

I would agree with this addition: on cars with aftermarket suspension that have springs considerably stiffer than stock.

I still support front and rear sway bars for cars with the stock springs. In the case of stock springs, if you just get the front bar, you WILL understeer a LOT. The rear bar balances the car considerably in this case.

im all stock suspension wise. so i think im going to grab both the front and rear and take it from there. see if i can get some 3 wheel action

and when you decide if you decide to upgrade your shocks then it isn't the end of the world if you have to remove your rear sway bar

hella24 06-11-07 07:04 PM

iscracing.net speedway front bar

I have a Speedway front sway bar just like ISC or AWR's. PM me if interested.

Upgrading the shocks and struts won't change the spring rates, and therefore shouldn't impact the sway bar selection.

wrankin 06-12-07 08:03 AM

Speaking of which - what are the stock spring rates?

dbgeek 06-12-07 11:05 AM

Racing beat springs:
These springs have been designed with a rate increase of approximately 20% (front - 156 lb/in) and 20% (rear – 128 lb/in) with a modest drop of 1-inch (front and rear).

Given those numbers, stock fronts are ~130 and rears are ~105...

Mazdatrix says:
Fronts 95 Rears 90

$345 seems a bit steep to me. Discount Tire has Eibach sway bar kits on eBay for $280 shipped. Search for item #200083775390.

$345 seems really expensive to me.

this is for Racing Beat

I remember when I was looking to buy that suspension techniques were a bit more than racing beat - $120/ea w/bushings
