FC sway bar hitting
 

Having a problem with my rear Racing Beat sway bar smacking up against the chassis of the car. I have the bar held by mazdatrix endlinks, and they are adjusted as short as possible. The run is lower via JIC coilovers, but not to excessive. 2 weeks ago the sway bar ended up taking out the passanger side hard brake linehttp://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b316/PandaFC/wtf1.jpg
I replaced the hardline with a SS line and relocated it, so that it wouldnt hit again. Im lost at the moment, I know some guys remove the sway bar for more grip, but Ive also heard it should be kept, and adjusted to work with the car. Which ideally I would like to do.

Jesus, never seen anything like that. Losing a brake line, that must have been scary.

Something seems borked in the geometry here. Are you sure that bar is 1. the right bar? and 2. installed in the proper orientation. The front endlinks should be almost vertical when installed correctly, yours seem almost 45*. WIth the wheels on the ground you should easily be able to remove and reinsert the bolts retaining the end link to the swaybar, if you can't you've got preload on one side or the other. As I recall my end links are adjusted no where near as short as yours are to achieve this. Finally, the swaybar, with endlinks removed, should be able to freely rotate and completely miss the chassis on both sides. In this picture, it's clear that your bar cannot, which makes me wonder if there isn't something seriously damaged in your suspension, you have the bar installed wrong, or it's totally the wrong bar for the FC.

just had a look at my car the top of the end links should be under the ^ shape on the left of your pick not under the one with the brake line in it

I just took it off. I want to find another stock bar (tossed mine) and compare the dimensions of the bars. It was installed correctly, there was nothing I could adjust to fix that problem. I never had a problem until I installed the racing beat bar, so Im guessing when I bought it used, either its not for my car, or something was bent.

To me it looks like the bar shifted to one side. What's the gap like on the other side? My endlinks line up with the other notch in the frame when the car's on the ground, and the endlinks do angle like that when the car's in the air (RB bar, nearly identical endlink setup). My endlink bolts will clear the frame, but just, but I've got thinner bolt heads (not washer headed).

The bar looked the same on the other side, and was hitting. I hardline was just a half an inch over, so it hit the line, but didnt kink it. I like the feel without the bar at the moment. The rear feels alittle more solid, and reacts the way Id expect it to

Weird, it's like they made it too narrow and too long. With stock endlinks the end would just barely clip the seam, but forward of the line, but it's not a problem any more.
