FC Oil buzzer?
 

So what do you FC racers do to prevent the oil level buzzer (and possible oil starvation) from distracting you when you're racing?

Disconnect the buzzer ;)

Actually, I don't get oil level buzzing, it was always the 6500RPM buzzer (or wherever it went off) that bugged the hell out of me.

I run a baffle plate, so maybe that's part of the reason I never heard that go off..

I had it happen to me, so I filled it up above the top.

Are you kidding me? It goes off all the time, even when I'm way above the full-line.. Only when I am turning one direction, mind you...
I will put the baffle in when I rebuild but it's not something I'm probably going to do when the engine is in...

I've heard it taking wide sweeping lefts and same goes for another more experienced FC racer.

he said it's normal, happens to him all the time at that one turn (on the track)
good thing it's not a super long turn........I'm prbly gonna baffle it if I become more involved at the track

I run the baffle plate and I "used" to get the buzzer all the time. I keep the oil level normal, check the level after every session and I disconnected the oil level sensor. I watch the oil pressure gauge every chance I get while on track.

PaulyDee: so did you find that the baffleplate helped?

I would have to say that the baffle plate helped a little bit. It did not help enough to make the buzzer go away completely so I disconnected the level sender, problem solved. :D

LOL, aren't you worried about oil starvation?

well, you could always drysump it?

well, my motor was totally shot and the buzzer got to the point that whenever the car was running (on one rotor mind you) it would go off all the time so i took the buzzer out (the semi-primitive method :D )

Not really since the oil pickup tube is in the center of the pan and the level sensor is at the far left. As long as the proper oil level is maintained there is no starvation issues.
