Thanks for all the information.
I saw the rear fenders on this site: http://www.racingsportscars.com/driv...ville-USA.html And all this is just for future reference. It'll probably be a while before I can even consider this. |
Wide body supplierrss/fabricators
Tires/rims front 16"x8" 35 profile, rear 17"x12" 25 profile. Any email address or
phone contact #'s to get the racing fenders. My 81' was vandalized/stripped so I'm starting over. Tried a few searches but it's close and the sizes are what I ran on my 81'. |

The stuff on the car looks like its right off the ISC website which in turn, I think, is their copy of the Mark l body. We had a guy talk to us up at Roebling Road last year that said he remembers the car as Mike's personal car a few years back. My friend bought the car from a guy that never raced it and had lost to logbooks so we kind of don't know its pedigree.
Here are some pics of the body that I had in my laptop. I will probably make molds off these since we like this body for the race car better than the Mariah molds we have. Either one would probably still be around $200 a corner so if you are in a hurry don't wait around to try to save 50% or something like that. I'm glad I figured out the difference in the molds now, I'd hate to have brought the car back from the track damaged to find out the stuff doesn't match! Hey jgrewe, any luck making some molds? I'm severely interested in the one piece front end you posted the pic of.... |

Thanks BigAl... prodbodies.com I believe this is the same company that made my kit. mine has a logo saying Japco, Probodies, race glass, and the address which is in CA, They might have moved. i also have the short IMSA wing that is on the #12 car and the larger IMSA wing. http://img828.imageshack.us/img828/8175/cimg2816e.jpg |
Are you looking to sell the larger wing? Or use it to make molds?

This is the company that used to be Hartman Fiberglass, When I spoke to them last they said they weren't sure what exactly they had, but If you give them the mazdaspeed part numbers they should be able to match it up with the markings on the molds. From the way I understood it, it sounded like they might have the 2nd gen widebody kit aswell if anybody is interested |

the file I have from Mazda is too large to upload, but here are some pictures I found online, the yellow one is the GTO kit, and the other is a Mark I GTU kit, the MarkII kits have the rear wheel arch extended into the door
At the time, 1982, aluminum wheel options were very limited, and the Epsilon 3 piece aluminum wheel was one of the finest available. I ran 15 x 10's in the rear, which was plus 2 for a 1982 RX7, and 15 x 8's in the front, topped by Pirelli 245 50 15's. In '82 I had the only kit in the Northwest, and never saw another one. Most of these kits were sold to buyers in S. Cal. It would surprise me if a few IMSA RX7 weren't appearing at RX7 clubs throughout S. Cal. Attachment 617674 |
