E-Stock FC-- any sway bar advice?
E-Stock FC-- any sway bar advice?
I'm finally getting around to getting my 86 GXL into shape somewhat resembling competent for autocross, so I'm in the market for front sway bar recommendations...
So far the only two products I've really seen are the Suspension Techniques and the Racing Beat bars. Both have a 1.125" diameter, but the ST bar claims to have 2 position adjustability.
At first glance, I like the adjustability factor of the ST bar, but since little details like end link design and attachment lever arm lengths can be so important when dealing with sway bars.. little details that may not be evident at first glance.. I thought I'd try to ask people who might know first-hand.
So.. any experience/recommendations/warnings with these (or other appropriate products I'm not aware of?)
Thanks

I dunno if Eibach still offers their bars?
I've got a set of ST ones, the adjustability saved my ***. With it front set on the softer setting, my 1987 Turbo II oversteered like mad. I set it to the harder position, and it's very neutral now.
One bad point is that the bar started rusting.

It has been so long since I looked at stock rules, but I don't believe you can run a non-stock swaybar in stock class. You can update and back date, but I don't think that the T2 bars were that much (if any) larger then GXL bars. I would assume they would be larger then SE bars, if that is what you are looking for.
I run ST bars, and have never had any problems with "normal" applications. I have only a slight issue with some abnormal applications.

Rear bar (or lack of) cannot be altered or changed in stock class.
MechE00, try contacting www.tripointengineering.com if you want to go "all the way". I believe they are still doing custom stuff for the FC.
