coolant lines ?
 

iv removed everything behind my dash. now, how do i go about the coolant lines that run out of the block into the heatercore in the center of the dash and out the other side into the lower radiator hose? please help . i dont want to loop them if i dont have too.

ok....can i just leave about 2inches of the hose still on the block and then cork it with a screw? please help me out anyone, maby no one is answering me cause im a dipshit lol. if so sorry

Just loop it.
Jamming a bolt in the end of the hose doesn't exactly have "reliability" written all over it.

lol no it doesnt but. is there another way to block it. because id rather not run more lines around the engine bay if its not necessary. thanks

AT your local plumbing store they have copper caps for plumbing. One of these properly sized and inserted backwards into a short piece of hose allows you to put a hose clamp around it and snog it up for a tight, no problem seal. I do this with the one off of the lower radiator outlet and that makes it easy to remove it as a drain hose.

I plugged the fittings right at the motor - now there is no heater hose anywhere on my race car.

I took the radiator to a radiator shop, and for $10 they plugged the heater hose outlet at the bottom of the radiator.

speedturn how did u plug them and what fittings?

I don't know what year model housings you are using, but on mine the rear heater hose comes out of the rear side housing. It has been a few years now, but it seems like the heater hose nipple screws out of the housing, and that it is a pipe thread fitting. It can be replaced with a pipe thread plug.

About 8 years ago, I had one heater hose fitting that was so old that it would not come out of the rear side housing. On that one, I took a drill bit just a hair smaller than the fitting ID, and used the drill to ream out the inside of the fitting until it was nice and shiny. Then I made a simple steel plug to just fit inside the fitting, and I epoxyed the plug into the fitting. It never leaked after many years of use.

well on mine its on the rear side housing but its not threaded like my buddys 12a, i have an 86 s4. but mine just has a snout that sticks out

Okay, then if you have skills with tools, then plug it like I said above.

yah thats what im planning on doing. its a bummer its not threaded cause it seems more fail proof to plug those. thanks
