compression fittings
 

has anyone used aluminum compression fittings on aluminum fuel line? my fuel pump puts out 175gpm and is 80psi. will these work fine, or will they piss fuel the second i start the car lol

I've been using them on my car with the russell aluminum fuel line for over a year without an issue.

How many psi is your pump? That's exactly the answer o was looking for!

Off the top of my head, I don't remember. It's rated for around 650hp though. Rail fuel pressure on mine at idle is 58psi I believe, but I'm LS1.

Perfect. That's great news! I can rest a little easier. Did you crank them down as hard as you could or just pretty tight?

my pump is 135gph and 95psi max and i've had no issues in the years they've been installed. there is a specific torque for them but you'll feel it pretty easy when it abruptly requires more force to tighten.

I run 60psi on my dual 380lph pumps. No issues for 2 years.

Just be very careful how you use the aluminum fuel line as any repeated whip, flex or vibration will work harden the tube and cause it to crack.

Long sections should have multiple clamps to the body and clamped close to the ends. Use full swivel fittings with a loop in the flexible hose section so the hose moves easily and does not transmit any force to the aluminum line.
