COM at Monticello

Hey all, we went to the new Monticello track in NY on Mon and Tues. The track is awesome!! It is long with lots of very complex corners plus a long strait where the 7 saw 150+:) That gets your attention. I would recommend this track to anyone in the area,it is on par with the Glen.
I ended up winning my class in the time trial with a time of 2.41 and change on Toyo RA1,s circa 2006:nod: Who needs big sticky tires!!It was nice to see a bunch ofMazdaSpeed 3's on MonOur next event is at the end of the month at NHIS you can check the schedule at : comscc.org.
Get on this track if you canit is a blast.
Jim

tire size?
street car or track car?

Thanks,It is a track car, weighs about 2800 tire size is 245. They will be 285 Pirelli slicks for next event. All the usual mods for a track car with a big ass turbo:) I should have a rear wing for the next event to balance out the downforce.

gotcha. here is my 2:41 lap there:

stock motor vette with 123k miles, with 311 rwhp, weighs over 3200 lbs without driver, coilovers and toyo r888s (295 front, 315 rear).

Very nice!! that track is so much fun. There is so much speed to be found there. I never fully attacked the braking zone at the end of the two straights. I use a lot less brake now with a car with no abs but need to get it to threshold without an expensive lockup:)

I may have got you :) Did the group that you ran with have offical scoring? Mine was a 2:41.660. My Robic had you at around 2:42 from start/finish to before start finish where vid ended.Great lap. You sure are a lot less busy with a V8 than I am in the rotary!! My feet are dancin' around like Barry Sanders
