Clutch/ hydraulics

I'm in the seemingly endless process of building my 79 autocross car. I switched the brake system and got that bled. I tried to do the clutch and couldn't seem to get any pressure. I got some fluid out but had little pressure. The engine, trans and clutch were transplanted into the car. Should I have swapped the slave and clutch master cylinder at the same time? Should it pump up pretty quickly?
I appreciate any help. Thanks

Was the clutch master cylinder primed? When I couldn't get any pressure to come out of the screw it turned out I had to replace the master cylinder, shortly after, like 10 minutes I blew the slave, then replaced that too. Was it losing any fluid after hard driving before the engine swap?

Assuming you have fluid throughout the line (I use a vac bleeder, get some vacuum built up on the line and suck fluid down to make sure the line is full), and you're still getting no fluid when you bleed, it's time for a new MC.. It should come shooting out with one pump..

I did prime the mc. I took the entire assembly off the donor car after all. It doesn't look like it was leaking. I'm getting fluid through the line. I keep getting air bubbles. I've put at least a pint through and out. STILL have bubbles. Doesn't seem like it should be taking this long, it's only a couple feet end to end.
