Clutch? (GSL-SE)

Alright, I'll pose this question to the racer section of the board as well... I'm setting up my GSL-SE pretty much to CSP rules and I'd like to know what the most reccomended clutch setup is...

Full on centerforce? (dual friction? Stage x?)

I've also heard good reports about Mazdatrix Street/Race clutches and clutch masters as well...

Just looking to get opinion on what people have used already.

BACKGROUND: car is set up for CSP, but still driven on the street when I feel like digging it out of the garage, and a couple road course type events a year. Streeable? that's questionable...

To make a recommendation, you will need to provide additional information. Like any increased horsepower mods on your car?

For Pro7 which is close to stock HP, although the car was on a major diet I ran a 4 puck ACT clutch with a stock pressure plate. No slipping, it grabs very quickly.

I would look for a spring clutch plate, to help on the standing starts/ red lights. If close to stock HP go with a stock style pressure plate, but if you are 30-50 more HP then I would run a RB street and strip set up. You will encounter a heavier clutch pedal though.

ALWAYS change your throwout bearing.

yeah, well the throwout bearing is what's forcing this right now anyway, so that's a REQUIREMENT to be changed...

As far as HP? it's a stockport motor, still FI, but full RB dual exhaust, intake, elec fan, etc etc.. About all you can do and stay in CSP as far as HP goes.

Personally, i run a DXD 6 puck clutch on my 86 GXL. I love the thing.

it's the same on my friend has on his 95 eagle talon turbo, he runs 12's in the quarter. although, if you are up around the 11 sec mark, they recommend a HDXD

Hey there, long time no read??????

Anywho, I got the bonez street/strip on the ole SE and I love it. It is considerably more pedal effort, but you get used to it real quick. I have had it on three cars now and have yet to trash it. And I usually explode parts store replacement clutches.

I will have to let you drive it sometime.

I run the bone stock Mazda $50 clutch and PP :) Works fine, but I'm not doing any drag style launches on it either :)
