Can you put a blower on a rotary?

Do they make any practical superchargers for rotaries? I think it would pwn on a rotary, talk about acceleration =)

Camdem s/c.

Signature says it all. Search helps too.

Mazdatrix did this. They put a Supercharger on a 3 rotor and got it to run low 10's. That thing sounded crazy ass hell.
They are selling the car by the way.

ya but why? low end torque? id rather have a turbo, more efficient

Sideways7 09-13-06 06:26 PM

Atkins sells the camden 'charger kit mentioned earlier. It doesn't provide a large boost in top end, but adds lots of low-mid range torque. So its great for a street/auto-x car, but not so much for a track car.

A modern screw-type blower is a great idea. Roots is idiotic. A little research on the efficiencies of both will explain why.

what about the new 2 speed chargers? i read about them on an automotive blog a while back.

(also, shouldn't this be in the performance section of the forum?)

I guess this wouldn't be practical...

Plenty practical, just leaving 10-15% of their HP on the table with a roots setup as opposed to a lysholm style screwcharger.

ever thought about centrifical?..maybe the s/c from a old mustang procharger or vortec s/c..i bet that would be wild

Roen 09-26-06 01:26 PM

if you're going centrifugal, you might as well go turbo.
