Busted Addco sway bar
 

I installed the solid Addco front bar, the 1.18" # 501. It was a bit shorter than the stock bar, the "meat" of the bar is about an inch shorter, and the kit supplied some grade 8 bolts and washers. So, after spending at least an hour making sure I had my end links as vertical fore and aft and as parallel to the wheels as possible I tighten the bolts down. It took 7 washers added to the bar to bridge the gap from the bar end to the link. Well, I took it out to the autox and the right side bolt sheared off flush with the bar end. Snapped right off. Is this common? Should the end link be closer to the bar end, even though that would mean it's not vertical? Help.

Sounds like that's not the right bar.. With that kind of torsional load, I'm not surprised the bolt head sheared off.

I'd call Addco and see what's up.

a solid spacer(not washers) and a better/larger bolt maybe necessary. the spacing sounds about right from the aftermarket bars I have seen.
