Brake upgrades, cylinder and lines too
Is there a good upgrade for the brake booster and cylinder?
I noticed that there is one line, that Y's off in the back for the back two brakes. Is there a way to upgrade so that all lines are independent? And, is there any advantage? Just figured while I have the car completely torn apart, it is something i could look into. |
For the booster, there are a few choices but for my car I chose to just upgrade the cylinder. I don't mind a slightly harder pedal. I went with a Wilwood master cylinder on stock booster and single proportioning valve to the rear.
The only advantage I see to a distribution block is in case of failure you still have brakes on opposite corners. You need to decide for yourself if you need that for your application. I don't believe it's necessary in a track configuration. Only brake failures I've experienced have had nothing to do with the cylinder or proportioning valve... |
Thanks for the information!
I'm not too worried about failures. |
