Blown water seal; Now What??

Looks like my water seal is blown..........got the tester kit from NAPA and I've def got exhaust gas in my coolant..............Now what?

My local guy can rebuild it for around $3500 to $4K. I've heard many suggestions on the forum on sources for rebuilt engines.......some have said Pineapple Racing, etc..............

Looking for recommendations. Thanks.

David

It does suck does,nt it...I,m in the same boat so I share your pain.
I,m going to put in a Pineapple too with all the mods, why dont you throw a "motor pulling party" that will save you a bundle on shop fees.
Oh yeah,I,m pulling mine in the next two weeks, wanna help?:D

I WAS thinking Pineapple...........but there's a thread going where evidently a lot of people have had a LOT of trouble with Pineapple motors lately, so personally I'm going to stay away from them big time............

Right now Pettit seems to be the way to go.........nothing but great reviews and feedback from everyone................

I'll try to find you the thread............

David

P.S. Airfare included to your "party"? ;)

Here's the thread

This is the thread that scared the crap out of me regarding pineapple............

Not just one guy but several chiming in......

Hey Dave,no airfare but all the cold beer and pizza you can eat!
Hmm.. pretty scary thread.
Rob seems to be a good guy. I think he "leveraged" on his popularity without doing the work himself, while I understand the profit motive,he is now in danger of loosing lots of furure work.

I have not commited to anyone yet.
A good engine builder in my own back yard is figuring into my equasion, heck I have not even ruled out a reman, that gives me change from 6k with a nice single!!

Why not just rebuild yourself? Save a lot of cash.
