Best rear end

Alright a while back I've been contemplating to go with this crysler rear end with 3 some series gears. Thinking that the fc rear 4:10 or 4:11 weren't reliable for a slight track car. The problem or question I ask is that the rear in the rx7 is so short in width that any other big domestic rear end is going to bring lots of work. Is there a company or any who runs a different set of gears in there rx7, just the gears not the whole rear end. I've haven't heard nor found anyone who is running a rx7 rear with say 3 high or low series gears. Can you interchange, or should I just go with the 12 bolt or some other rear. If your confused I'm apologize, so am I.

Are you asking if you can get a different gear ratio like a 3.9:1 instead of 4.1:1?

As far as reliabilty, strength, and servicability nothing beats the 87-88 TII Diff. Carl (Up to ~500rwhp)

could have sworn up and down the 10 bolt out of a late model(4th gen) fbody (transam, camaro etc) is only like a 1.5" wider total flange to flange than stock, so its a whopping .75" wider on each side. thats hardly a difference to me, just offset the wheels.
I think a 8.8 from a mustang is even shorter IIRC

Assassin- what engine setup you running.

Stock T2 should be able to handle plenty for 10's.

10bolt 7.5" Fbody rear end is about as strong as glass.... Stay away from it.

8.8" Ford is not only stronger but can be found for about $50-100 complete. Add beefier axles, LSD, gears and you have enuf to handle 1000hp+. You can have it narrowed to any size you want by a quality shop.

No company makes gears other than 3:90/4:10+ for the FC/FD.

You should run a ford 8.8", it is more efficient than the 9" and you can get up to 5.13 gears! Supposedly you can even go higher, why you would need I don't know. Like gnx7 you can get them cheap, my friend just got one for free. Anyways the 8.8" can handle plenty of power especially on a light Rx7, well over 800 lbs of tq. For my next set up I was thinking of messing with my IRS, but I decided to just behalf the beast. Go 4 link with a Ford 8.8" and you'll be a happy man. Seeing how you could adjust your four link for track or street.

Are you just talking about the third member, or the entire rear axle?
