Anyone have a big seat in a fb?

I currently have a recaro srd in my fb autox/trackday car. I'm looking to upgrade now to a fix back seat because the fb will soon be a trailer queen and the reclinable part of the seat was driving me nuts at the last trackday.

I'm a bigger guy so i'm looking at a corbeau fx1 wide or a forza II. Does anyone have any experience with one of these or whether it'd even fit in a fb body?

Thanks!

oh, and no, the srd won't be for sale, it'll probably go into my new dd miata...

Have you looked at the Kirkey or other aluminium seats?

Yes I have, and that'd probably be my next option the corbeaus don't work, I just want somthing with a bit more padding, which the corbeaus seem to have.

Thanks for the suggestion though!

I have a Kirkey intermediate road race seat in my FB. It has a 15" wide bottom. I weigh about 250lbs and the seat fits great. Very comfortable and well padded. I had a Sparco before and I like this seat allot more.

Because of the roll cage in my car I had to mount the seat low and to the right. This required a welded mount. The seat would fit even better without a cage.

If you don't mind me asking, how tall are you? I weigh about the same but don't think i'd fit in a 15" wide seat...

I've got the Kerkey deluxe road race seat in my fb. The padding is very good for a race seat. Mine is a 15". I'm 6'1" and I had to cut out the boxed section that the front of the stock seat attaches to in order to get the seat low enough. I also pounded down the floor bump at the right rear of the seat. After all this, I got about 1.5" clearance from the top of my helmet to the tin of the roof. If I changed from the stock steering shaft and wheel to a custom removable, I could lay the seat back and do better but with stock wheel and pedals, this is the best I could do.

I'm about 5'9" Basically I'm a fatty!

if you have a Kirkey dealer in your area you might want to try on some seats. I have also used Kirkey economy circle track seats but I don't like to be retained my rib cage.

I bet Kirkey could help you out if you call him and give them some measurements
