There are a number of people who use the Mustang wheels from the mid 90's. They are the same bolt pattern and are cheap and very light. They are the 3 spoke wheels.

Circle Wheels is having a huge sale right now. $25 each for a huge number of sizes/types. Yes they're steel, but $25 each is lots cheaper than the junkyard or Kosei's.

Yes they're cheap, but I've not seen even one circle track wheel of any design or manufacterer that'll fit. The problem is that the backspacing on them are all way too small. A 15x7 will need about a 5" backspace, minimum (ideal would be about 5.25"). The most is usually around 4", if that, so you'll have wheels that stick out beyond the body, which I don't think is legal for racing, it certainly isn't legal on the road.
I'll second the Mustang wheels, any V6 15" wheel from 94-04 will fit. They're 15x7, 5x114.3, 24mm offset, 70.1mm center bore, and are around 16lbs for one design anyway, not light, but they're cheap. You can get a set for well under $100, because none of the Mustang owners want them. |
AWESOME!!! just the advice I was looking for, thank you!!!

I just got 2 sets of ROTAS (8 wheels) in 15x7 for under $800, shipped across the country, 13 pounds

thanks for the offer but im looking for something cheaper, not that yours isnt a good price, just not in the budget for a set of spare wheels of that price, thanks for the offer!

Isn't circle racing what ISC Racing uses on their blue ITS FC?
And also they offer a few 15x8's with a 5 inch backspace, isn't that pretty close to what you would need with a 15x8? |
lol...sorry for the misunderstanding, but I wasn't offering to sell mine. I just bought em for my car a couple of weeks ago :) ...just wanted to give you a heads up on whats out on the market.
ISC used to use circle wheels, but I believe they told me something changed and now they are using racing dynamics. I believe the models are like pro racer1 and pro racer2 or somthing along those lines...but they are expensive, and not really that light |
Another alternative is the 2nd gen MX-6 wheels (93-96). They're 15x6.5, 40mm offset and have a hub bore slightly larger than the FC. Basically the same as a vert wheel, but are probably more common and cheaper. I have no idea about the weight though.
