Anyone has experience using GTech RR ?
 

Hey,

did anyone try out the new GTech RR yet ?
Its supposed to be much like Jeez! unit, able to record two hours or
data - lateral and longitudual G's, RPM, ...

I have it. It seems to be good when working properly.
I have used it in an euro N/A with good success. However it is known to have difficulties with the RPM measuring, which is the case with my TII. As it somehow works out RPM from the electrical noise of the ignition system, how reliable is the reading of RMP depends on what is the ignition system in a car. On my stock TII the Gtech RR is unable to read the RPM. Supposedly a firmware upgrade fixing this and some other bugs is due soon.

How do you then flash the unit ?

Hmm... if it cant read RPM, then it cant plot the power/tq graphs either I presume.

Flashing should be straightforward through a serial cable.
You are right, no HP/TQ vs. RMP plots if you don’t have the RMP.
Assuming you are in SLO, are you coming to the CZ meeting this year? We can meet there and you will be able to see how it works.

I am about the buy one for 290Euros shipped, but need to know if it worth it or should I spend my money on something else (like HKS TP or Mugen baffled oil pan for my ITR) ;)

I dont think I will come to CZE, although I loved Prague in December ;)
