Any one have Experience on 275/35/15 R6
 

I am build a S2 RX-7 for locoal Road race series

there is no limit tire size. so i chose widest one i can find in the market

which is 275/35/15 hoosier R6


just want to know any one using this wheels on road course and light weight car ?

Considering that's probably about three times as much grip as the SA was ever designed for... something is going to break. lol.

It will need a lot of suspension tuning.

Full weld in cage. Tri- link suspension panhard bar. all pillow-ball bushing .


The only two thing that worry me is front and rear hub

You will need much stiffer springs, shocks, and ARBs to deal with the body roll the extra grip will cause.

Otherwise there's no reason not to use the widest rubber you can jam in there except for balance issues. I can't imagine the drag would be so bad that the corner speed didn't make up for it.

i hope you either have a lot of power or a very low speed track.. i cant imagine those being faster than a smaller tire on regular size race tracks with na rotary power.

that being said, you can probably run A6's and be faster than others. wider tire doesnt necessarily give more grip, but it will alow a softer compound due to better heat dissipation.

i would guess short bias-ply slicks would be best.

EDIT: just looked at your build thread, guess you do have power... 275's should do you just fine, although i still vote for slicks

lol valkyrie and i cant imagine the opposite things. guess 'cant imagine' is a bit of an exageration :-)

The extra weight could be a penalty, of course, and if the track is too slow or the race is too short the keep the tires in the right heat range, then you need smaller tires.

Slicks aren't an option for every race class. And theyre harder to drive with than DOT comps... which are harder to drive than streets.

I am using same offset wheel F/R. which is 15x10 offset -26

hope the extra grip can over come the weight and drag on this set up
