Another SOLO II classing question
Alright, I could currently go to either A Street Prepared or Street Modified II, but I'm not sure which route to take. My current plans for the car are Koni yellows and upgraded front and rear sway bars, but other than that, I don't plan on any engine modifications for a while.
I've read the regs on both classes, but I'm still not sure which route would be best for me. Current mods are just SS brake lines, downpipe, and Eibach springs. I'll be using Victoracers next season as well. |
"best" meaning most likely to win, place or show?
that would depend on your local competition. |
All those mods are ASP legal. Just run ASP until further mods and then run SM2. Doesn't cost anything to switch classes.
|
ASP is restrictive. No upgraded radiators, no boost control, etc.
SM2 is more friendly to "regular" FD mods, Fluidyne, PFC, etc... Of course locally most people could give a crap if you have a bigger radiator in ASP. |
Are R-compounds allowed in Street-Mod? I can't remember, but if not then that should be considered...

Ok, thanks guys, this helps out. With my plans and timeline for mods, I'll just run ASP until I start upgrading the car more, then switch to SM2 :)
