ALS / Rxparts Seals
 

A few people say there running Rxparts seals this year. I know last year or the year before some of you ran ALS seals that now run Rxparts seals. I have heard nothing but good things about either seal. My questions:

1. What is the main differences between the seals? (how they act toward irons/housings, One more brittle than the other, ECT)

2. What Apex seal SPRING(s) and corner seals are you running with either seal?

These 2 seals seem like the most "reliable" seal in a high boost, revlimter bouncing, FFFF my fuel pump went out wot in 4th, rear rotor let go and didn't take my turbo out, events.

I would like more info on these seals also.

I can only speak from my experience with ALS seals alone. Mazda Apex springs, Atkins corner seals/FD springs (I'll be going back to Mazda corner seals this build). I had an overboost with severe detonation (cracked front and rear iron dowel lands at the same time) and the seals survived without any noticeable problems or loss of compression. They were well over 100 psi on first crank (I think around 120psi)

ALS seals, everything else mazda oem fd parts. No issues yet, 3rd season on them. Lots boost, lots of drag passes bouncing rev limiter, 2 step and all is fine still. Around 10-11k miles on it. All parts were used before build, no lapping.

I dont think you will go wrong on either seal.

i would like to run als front rotor, rxparts rear rotor or vice-versa. i don't know of anyone who has run both seals that are willing to give helpful non bias advice as to which is better. If they both perform equally than its a no brainier that the less expensive one is better!

Ive seen nothing but positive from both. Ive never tried the Rxparts seals as once I started building with ALS almost 3 years ago I have never looked back. Keep in mind most of my customers are in the 500rwhp and less range. Seals work great and seem not to eat the housings though I have never had to tear down an engine with ALS seals.
