Air Filter Question
In ITS, since the air intake is mandated to either be in the engine compartment or the stock location, which one provides more power? Having an open filter heatsoaking in the engine? or using the stock restrictive airbox with a K&N drop-in?

I run this http://www.rx7.com/store/rx7/fcintake.html

the K&N cone?

Yowch- it'd be cheaper to go to ebay and buy the $15 MAF adapter with filter, throw the cheap filter away and get the K&N that fits it for $70ish. :D

If there is something better, someone pipe up. Last dyno had me at 167rwhp on an ITS legal motor, S4 and not the more powerful S5. |
I'm definitely going to do the dyno test between the stock airbox and the bonez intake once I build the car. The only problem is finding a way to simulated airflow at speed.

You would think they'd have a fan setup that could simulate 60 mph or so of wind.
|
mmm.......The only problem is the temperature differences at a standstill to what the car is actually experiencing at speed.
