Aftermarket Seats, help? ANYBODY!
Help me out guys, I purchased the Kirkey Aluminum racing seats. Now who can we get the mounting hardware from?
I would prefer to buy something pre-fabbed to already fit our car. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really don't want to mount on the floor or use existing brackets. I am trying to get to 2550 lbs for SM2 class. Again any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Allan |
IOPort sells mounting plates, but you're going to be drilling holes in the floor..
www.ioportracing.com As for direct fit mounts? Never heard of anyone making that kind of mount for the Kirkeys for any car, let alone an FD.. PaulC |
Kirkeys officially needs to be welded to a cage.

How do you plan to weld an aluminum seat to a steel roll cage? ;)
I guess you mean the seat brakets? |
Maybe in the Netherlands, but not here in the US..
Bolted brackets are fine. If you're going club racing, you need a seat back brace as well. PaulC |
if you check with Kirkey they have a bracket kit that does weld onto the cage. this is designed for stock type cages that are more extensive than the production car based cages. the seat is then bolted to the cage kit. that is the official way it is done. there are alot of other ways to do it but you will have to make the brackets yourself or have one of the other racers who have done this copy the parts they made for their car.

That's what I meant :)
