ABS wiring with non RX7 harness (FD)
I am in the process of an LS1 swap, and I am using my LS1 wiring, and have removed ALL of the RX7 wiring. This will be a track car so 90% of the wiring wasnt needed. My question is how easy is it to take the ABS ONLY wiring out of the harness and hook that back up.
Any advise would be great Thanks |
Hi Tony. I think it would be fairly easy. I had to tap into all 4 sensors to use for my aftermarket ecu's traction control system. The ABS unit is tucked under the driver side rear corner of the trunk (basically behind the gas cap). I don't think there is much tie in with the main harness.

I recently went to Haltech E8 and my ABS isn't working. I'd like to here some of the common wires missed when going aftermarket ECU. Speed sensor, etc.

I have the schematic for the ABS, and have tried my best to understand it....which means I still dont :)
So I tried breaking it down the best I could, but I still found some wires in which I have no idea what to do with or if what I need to hook up too. AC- Alternator?? 1A- Igintion?? 1N- Stop light switch??? Also the wires that go to the ABS Hydraulic Unit B/L W/R I have no idea what all that mess indicates above the Hydraulic Unit on the schematic. Any input is greatly appreciated, on my quest to hook up my ABS. |
Anyone, I just would like to run ABS only ECU, and use my LS1 PCM for everything else.

AC- Alternator?? 1A- Igintion?? 1N- Stop light switch??? Any input is greatly appreciated, on my quest to hook up my ABS. 1A is ignition and gets it from the rear wiper fuse. 1N is Stop light because it needs to know when your pressing the brake. Now the fun 1, AC. Why would the abs need a wire from the alternator? Well I traced through the diagrams and that wire is also tied to all the dash lights. So this means when the Alternator goes bad the sends put a ground on this wire and turns all your dash lights as a warning. So it goes to the abs brain and then turns the light on. The rest of the ABS system is pretty straight forward. |
