87 TII Tranny on 86

Just wondering if this was possible before i start taking it out of my other car, Could i bolt up my TII Tranny onto my 86 N/A engine without any problems?
Thanks

You'll need a T2 driveshaft, rear end, and halfshafts as well, or you'll have to have a custom driveshaft made.

And if you care about what racing class you're in for auto-x or road racing, you'll very likely be illegal there.

COuple things..
Input chaft is different between Turbo and Non Turbo.. so you need to go look at clutch discs at Racing beat. They sell a Disc SPECIFICALLY to allow you to use the NA flywheel and clutch cover with a Turbo splined Clutch disc. The tranny bolts right up.
STARTER... wont work.. the diameter of the flywheel is greater IIRC and the starter on the turbo is further from the center of the flywheel to allow for the larget diameter.. also I think the tooth count on the turbo starter is different from the N/A... therefore you need a N/A starter.. and need to modify the bellhousing to allow it to engage properly on the smaller diameter flywheel.
Driveshaft as mentioned above.. The flange is different as is the output shaft.. Soo N/A Driveshaft.. you need the Yoke that enters the tranny from a Turbo.. If you use a Turbo driveshaft.. you need the flange from the N/A where it engages the Diff.
OR... YOu could spend 1800.00 for a already prepped re-built ready to go in a N/A tranny with new starter etc from ISCRACING.net (Van Steenburg)
I have a TII Tranny in the garage that I look at often.. but still cant justify the PITA to put it in a N/A car..

Now having all the parts.. (Diff and tranny and Driveshaft) you can simply Take the NA driveshaft and the Turbo to a shop and have them swap the flange for you and then you are only left with the starter mods...
OR.. go down the road of getting the halfshafts... and changing the center chunk as well as the axles, before tackling the starter mods.
