5.5 inch 13b-rew flywheel

Hi all,

I'm trying to source out a flywheel for a 13b-rew motor which will take a 5.5" clutch. Unfortunately I'm on the other side of the Atlantic to all the people who seem to make them. Can any of you provide any contacts for me, or better still do any of you have one to sell?

I've spoken to Pineapple Racing about ordering one. I have a price and could order but I've not seen an engineering diagram or even a picture of what I'd be buying so don't want to go ahead and order yet.

Any information, leads or photos would be great so please contribute.

Thanks,

Alex

Hi Alex,

Mazdatrix is a great resource and they sell a flywheel that might work for you.

Best,

Guy

Hi Guy,

Thanks for the response. I've just had a look through what Mazdatrix can supply, their product looks good but the price is $536 whereas Pinapple Racing can supply at $402. Obviously I don't want to pay more than I have to if I can avoid it.

As I said before I'm not happy to order without seeing what I'll be getting before hand. If I order and have to send it all the way back to Portland because it's not right it'll be a real pain in the ass. I've asked Rob at Pineapple to send me pictures but it seems he's quite a busy guy.

Has anyone here used their flywheel?

Alex

What about QuarterMaster or Tilton?

Both of which are available through the motorsports program, right?

The Mazda Motorsports program doesn't strech out across the Atlantic, it's solely for you guys in North America.

So QuarterMaster and Tilton make flywheels for 13b motors? I didn't know anything about that, over here the RX-7 people only look to the far East for their clutches and flywheels, which are both serious money and not as good as a race-specific product.

I have a Tilton clutch which I got off ebay from some team in North Carolina, so it'd be nice to have a Tilton flywheel too. Who are good people in USA to contact regarding Tilton parts other than Tilton themselfs? I won't bother contacting any UK suppliers as all they'll do is the same as me and call/email America.

Here is a great company to work with, looks like the ship across the pond too. They stock both companies. I have a pretty trick set up that uses a button style flywheel from QM and a stock flex plate. PM me and I'll get you some pics.
