48ida and 48 dcoe
what is the diff between the 2 and performance when having a bridge set-up
|
It depends on the intake manifold you use. The side draft DCOE can use a very short intake, or a long intake which curves up over the top of the motor. The long, over the top manifold is too long for the hi-rpm powerband of a bridge port motor. The short intake (used to be sold by Lake Cities) is the one for a DCOE on a bridge port.
The 48 IDA manifolds are all about the same length. I have seen many more IDA carbs on race engines than I have seen DCOE carbs. I have been successfully using an IDA on my peripheral port race engine for 9 years now. |
