4 or 5 pt Harness in an FD

I have been autocrossing for a few years and I am finally going to purchase a 4 or 5 pt harness for my car. It seems obvious that securing the top of the harness to strut bar is not an intelligent path to take, but other than roll cage, is there any place to mount the shoulder straps?

I would forget about a 5 point unless you want to get racked in a crash, 6 point is the way to go (I speak from experience). If you don't have a cage I would get a DOT approved 4 point like the one from Schroth, you can bolt it down to some sheet metal behind the drivers seat with some good backing plates. I wouldnt use the rear strut bar tho...

Can I use a 4 pt for Track days/Road Racing? I am moving down to Macon in the August and I was hoping to start going to track days at Road Atlanta.

for track days you're fine with stock belts, 4 point, 5 point, whatever. I would stick with a DOT approved 4 point unless you have a cage or roll bar at least...

make sure you check out Panoz for track days...

It looks like I might turn my FD into a track car! Those entry fees aren't the cheapest but speeding tickets aren't either.
