26b in fb?!

Does anyone have any links to anyone who has done, or failed, to do this extreme mod!!!

Just that it's a fantacy of mine to see or get it done.

eoph 11-25-03 07:41 PM

only saw a 4 rotor scooter fd on video, u should be able to find that somewhere.

IrishDawg 11-25-03 10:49 PM

i have never seen one in FB no, i've seen the scoot 4rotor, and the 787b, those are the only 4rotors i have ever seen. Scoots was 4 12b housings, making it a 24a..., not a 26b

Shamrock.James 11-25-03 11:54 PM

Scoot's one aparently got scraped anyway... from what i heard it just kept ripping engine mounts.

SERIES 1 XLR8 11-26-03 12:16 AM

do u guys know the bmw with tyhe number plate BARB (or sumthing like that) it has a 4 rotor. It used to be a show car in australia, now it's a race weapon.

What would it take to get 1 into an fb.apart from a hell of a lot of $$$$.

Redwood 11-26-03 03:00 AM

Look for 20B swaps into FB's. Hell, even look at 13B-RE's into FB's. Read up on these logistical nightmares and hear about the problems encountered. Then multiply those complications by a factor equal to your age, cause the older you get, the less decades you have to get it done, and it'll take quite a while. :)

well crap all it takes is muh-nay.. if it's a peripheral port (you can maybe make some spherical valves in the intake to make it run better at low RPM). Then with the peripheral port you can eliminate the width of the side housings (which used to flow air) and just run enough coolant through there to cool the engine.. I mean look how much spacing there is between cylinders on your typical piston motor.. it doesn't take too much coolant to do that.. and you can even have it braced in a few spots so it doesn't collapse.. that alone should be able to save a considerable amount of length of the motor.

SERIES 1 XLR8 11-26-03 03:48 PM

i have a long time 2 get it done.Hell i'm only 16

lol

SERIES 1 XLR8 11-26-03 03:51 PM

so in 15 years after $100, 000 I might b able to do it. I'll just get someone to build it for me. I heard somewhere that you can ask mazda to make one for you for the right $$$$ !!! fitting it in is the problem.

I wonder how much it cost for this 4 rotor twin turbo setup!! I find it hard to imagine the power!

where'd you hear that? i'd liek to see the article if you've got it anywhere, just curious. Makse sense though..that thing reved liek a biatch

particleeffect 11-28-03 03:48 AM

your basically asking the equivelent of putting a v16 into a v8 chassis. yeh, it "can" be done. but it's a stupid waste of r&d that could have more simply sent you to the moon.

if you REALLY need more than say, 700hp, then put a 20b in. i know it's fun to think about a 4 rotor, but it's really just being stupid. damnit, your in NZ too, you could probably just go import a 99 spec or hell, a GT-R.

IrishDawg 11-28-03 12:55 PM

yeah, but it'd be nice to have a 4rotor to be like "hey, i have a 4rotor". It's my dream to build one eventually, just for the heck of it.

TheTwinTurboRX-7 11-29-03 07:53 PM

waste of time, money and effort for no real gain over a 20b other than the neato factor, maybe better for lounge as I certainly wouldn't want to race one. imagine the logistics of trying to do quick repairs or getting parts.

SERIES 1 XLR8 11-30-03 06:10 PM

i no it's crazy, but it would be fun still. I'd wanna race one!!!
