25row usability...
 

25row is definitely overkill for the stock bumper and street use... figured id install it anyway for track events with the parking lamp off...
not quite sure if this will provide more cooling... anyone run this setup before and noticed any improvements.. some pics...

I don't know how much advantage taking the signals out will give, it doesn't even look like the air will hit the core. Remember that the opening for a heat exchanger doesn't need to be anywhere near as large as the exchanger itself, as the air velocity slows considerably when it gets to the core. What you should probably do it fabricate ducts that smoothly transition from the opening size and shape to that of the core.

Somebody needs a '99 spec front bumper ;)

plannin on fabricating some sort of shield .. that will angle down from the top of the parking lamp to the top of the core..
something simple enough to just quickly bolt on after parking lamp removal for track events...
there really isnt enough room to do any ducting for the rest as the core is pretty much already against the bumper..

afgmoto1978 fabricated the oil coolers in the picture I posted, and that is his FD (in my garage)

I'm keeping my stock bumper/flip up lights and using the same cores.

He still had enough room to run a fan on the rear

curious to see how the fittings for the lines are placed on those hugantic exchangers...

Saw a max 204 degF water and 234 degF oil at the last time attack at buttonwillow, the air temperature was in the 80s all weekend. With some proper ducting those temps should drop 10-15 degF.

Where is that oil temp reading taken from (oil pan or pre/post coolers)?

5 inch past the oil outlet of the engine, just before my Mocal oil thermostat and before oil coolers.

Awesome. How much of an improvement did you see compared to your previous setup? Assuming it is comparable...

A '99 bumper would certainly help, the openings must be three times the size... however, if I remember all of the discussions on stock mount intercoolers, the inlet opening need not be as large as the face of the cooler, what's most important is that it's fully ducted.

If it isn't ducted, I'm not sure it matters how big the opening is vs. the cooler... air is going to follow the path of least resistance, and that's not likely squeezing itself through your cooler fins :-)

Night and day difference, with my old 19 row setup with the whole front end blocked off other than coolers I was seeing 245 degF water and 255 degF oil at the time attack I did last year in slightly cooler air temps.

Once I put the JKL GTC bumper on and do some proper ducting I should see a slight improvement as well.
