13" Wheels on an FC for AutoX, fit??
 

As the title reads. Will 13" wheels fit over the stock N/A FC brakes? I think the bolt pattern is 4x4.5". What I really want to do is swap the FC 4 bolt front brakes over to my first gen. I've seen it done with the turboII stuff but then your into a 5 bolt setup.

Anyone know if 13's will slip over stock non turbo 4 bolt second gen front brakes?
If you have a car sitting with wheels off the measurement would be appreciated.

what diameter is the brakes?

Generally speaking rim diameter must be 3" larger than brake rotor diameter.

Interesting that you replied, I've been looking at your car pictures to gauge my setup. Quite interested in any information you'd care to share regarding your panhard bar. Likely I'll be buying a pair of diamond 13x7's for some 20x9.5x13 hoosier tires I bought. Its a wrap around type tire, otherwise i'd go straight to 13x8's.... next season.
Anyway I have no idea what diameter the rotors are cause i don't have a 2nd gen and the FSM manual only lists effective diameter. I think turboII rotors are 10.9"
I've purchased a ford 7.5" rear axle that measures 22mm wider than my stock one (mounting face to face) but the bolt circle is 4.5", hence why I would like to convert to 2nd gen non turbo, to match the 4x4.5. Also since I autoX I'm not willing to abandon the 13" wheel setup.
If worse comes to worse I'll have the stock parts machined out to accept studs in the 4x4.5" format.

The GSL-SE has a 4x4.5 bolt pattern and better brake setup than the 12A cars. I would think that would be the easiest swap possible...if you can find a SE front suspension.

I use 13x8 Diamond Racing wheels on my GSL-SE. The work well.

Where do you autocross? What type of class structure are you dealing with?

Excellent idea on the GSL-SE front suspension. I autoX in eastern Canada. We run the classes by the canadian rule book. The mods will bump me up into a class where I'm not competitive but whatever. I may even have to run D-Mod at regional events cause of my non DOT tires, but again i really only compete against myself. Last year i was in stock class. Next year i plan to get 13x8's with kumho 235's

It was a kit made by ground-control.com and they don't make it anymore. It does the job, but is not the best geometry. G Force Engineering makes a proper bar. It did lower my rear roll center, and the rear was easier to control once it was installed. It does make clunk-clunk noises, and it did stiffen up the rear a bit. But nothing terrible.


Why do you need that? 1st gen rear can handle my 12a J-bridge just fine.

The reason I got the 7.5 is because both my seals are leaking and one axle needs replacing, the bolt pattern is a pain to find wheels for, ring pinnion ratios are rare, limited slip units are rare. With the ford a new ratio or limited slip is a phone call away from Jegs or Summit. $230 ford racing limited slip and $160 ring pinnion sets are hard to beat. I've seen others do the 8.8 but its way to heavy for me.
