We have a major problem in this section...

Some moderator apparently decided it would be a good idea to completely delete older threads from this section as discussed at the top of the page; they screwed up when they included the GG/BG section in this cleanup. Now all record of certain transaction problems has been lost. I know this because 2 older threads that I recently bumped (with new and relevant information) are no longer in this section, in my subscribed threads, or in the forum search database.

What the fuck is the purpose of this section, if not to retain records of problem transactions and sellers/buyers?

Someone needs to go back and restore all threads to this section of the classifieds. I think it was a great idea to clean the actual fs/wtb postings, but someone dropped the ball in execution.

Sprockett 09-10-07 01:00 PM

yeah, if that's true...that would suck.

Merciless 09-10-07 01:21 PM

why not at least PM me before making a thread? dont jump into conclusion right off the bat....my rule is nothing is deleted unless the original and opposing party agreed of the removal

SailentShadow 09-10-07 02:39 PM

Agreed. I was looking up on some info about some people, and there's none to be found...

Sucks..

RotaryResurrection 09-10-07 03:26 PM

So, show me where the threads are (titles may not be exact) that I recently replied to (a few days ago):

"flaky buyers list"

"zcsl428 ripped me off"

I find it useless to PM moderators because they often claim not to know what the other moderators may or may not have done, and a bunch of excuses get made. It seems like the classified area is the stomping ground of whatever moderators/administrators feel the need to go in and change something whether or not they are responsible for this area; I have seen Rynberg, DrKilljoy, Merciless, rx7doctor, all intervene in threads in the GGBG section.

this is BS, are all MODs suppose to communicate to each other before we take action on a certain thread/post??? i only intervene in threads, NOT delete...

i just checked, and someone did prune 9month+ old threads from the whole section of classified section, but failed to exclude the GGBG section:wallbash:

IS that not exactly what I just said in the first post of this thread? Did you not read that? :uhh:

Merciless 09-10-07 05:20 PM

he got the approval from ryan...i didnt read it until now...as i said, he failed to exclude this section since this section is sub forum of the classifieds....honest mistake as i see it

RotaryResurrection 09-10-07 05:23 PM

Yeah, sure it is a mistake. I just wanted it brought to someone's/everyone's attention that the mistake needed correction.

This is a perfect example. Had I pm'd you about it, you would have told me that I didnt know what I was talking about, and you hadn't deleted any threads. Meanwhile another mod had done it.

Thus why I posted it here publicly, so that multiple people could get involved and figure it out.

Merciless 09-10-07 05:26 PM

i understand where are you coming from, but this was done over the weekend and i dont usually check the forum...

i will make this a seperate forum instead of under the classified...

jic 09-10-07 05:49 PM

i think my vouch thread was deleted... :(

Carzy Driver 09-10-07 07:14 PM

rollback!!

I am assigned to this section also as to help Merciless out. Alot of us have multiple sections of the forum that we Modetate over. I am getting heavily involved in this section and will intervene when I feel the need to. I also will delete certain posts as other admin or supermods will do so if they are in violation of the forum rules or they are just pointless posts from members to throw fuel on the already out of control thread.

There will be new guidline/rules for posting in this section soon. This is coming about because of the senseless bashing and flaming that occurs in alot of these threads.
The rules about buying/selling in this forum with guidelines has been there to assist buyers/sellers in having good experiences on this forum. However there are many who just ignore all of the "Flags" that have been put up by Admin, mods and fellow members alike to warn others of a potential problem.

It is pretty sad that fellow "Members" and enthusiasts have to have a section like the GG/BG section to begin with. But it is here, and if used properly can be a viable tool for "Stopping" this senseless scamming and poor experiences caused by Non-caring members!

RotaryResurrection 09-10-07 09:37 PM

Merciless, the new layout looks good. I am not sure of the need for a 'general member question' section...this leaves too much leeway for other topics to be posted, and is probably going to be too confusing for the masses.

So will the old posts that were deleted as part of the 9 month cleaning be restored, or are they just gone?

Also, will all the old history of the gg/bg section carry over to the new layout? Looks like there are only a few posts in each section compared to the history that was there previously.

Just curious. Thanks for your efforts.

iluvmy3rdgen 09-10-07 10:15 PM

I was wondering why I couldn't find old positive feedbacks for me when I was fairly active a year ago. Good find RotaryResurrection.

dbragg 09-10-07 10:36 PM

WTF?!?

my thread about gonzz was deleted. what the fuck is up with that? so now all the bad things these people have done are getting erased and they are getting to start over.

timothyandygoh 09-10-07 10:42 PM

i remember the mods locking the bad thread about gonzz. they said they were going to lock it till they did some research both sides. however, i have not gottten a single word back from the mods.

so now they jsut delete all the negative threads about gonzz LOL!

first the random good guy threads, now all his negative ones are deleted.

mods helping gonzz? =P

or something even more sinister going on? ^^

GoodfellaFD3S 09-10-07 10:52 PM

aws140, no need to drop the F bomb. I for one am not letting anyone get away with anything. Check my track record.

TAG, gonzz was banned. Call me crazy, but I don't think the mods are helping him.

Think before you post.

Just like usual you guys don't pay attention. That's all you had to do was look at Gonzz's avator or profile. It states right on there that he was BANNED!
We do not make a habit off openly posting a Ban on a member with a open thread stating that is what happened.

And this deletion of threads has been explained that it was a mishap in an attempt to clean up the old classified section threads. It was not a "Plot" to remove viable sources of threads from this section.

And this is the thanks we get or I get for getting involved in trying to help you Timothy?

FrankV702 09-11-07 12:50 AM

Rx7doctor.. are you goin to sevenstock?

Lol, why, is Gonz planning on jumping him there too?

On a more serious note, I like the new format that the GG/BG has gotten turned into. I have to agree that the general questions section is probably going to get screwed up pretty quickly, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. Is there any chance of the deleted posts coming back or are they gone?

timothyandygoh 09-11-07 05:32 AM

OoOooo than my bad about that.

because i definately didn't hear anything about the whole matter =)

see this is done the mature way now.

if i screw up, i openly and maturely apologize, and try to make up for it. i offer a round of beer for the mods, and everyone on my side =P

regarding my fd on fire, i later decided against posting pictures.
apparently, my prime suspect came on this forum, and searched my postings. and now has written information that i said that my car was on fire. so to help with police investigations, and advice from the PD, i have decided NOT to post further information regarding my car.

it was a gooD ride, we'll see how the PD and the insurance company resolves this.

i will move them when i have more time on my hands...

as for the general section, i will evaluate it for a little bit, and will either keep it open/close as we see fit. as for the deleted threads, there is no way to bring them back unless there is a backup somewhere that i can get my hands on and "able to restore them"

again, for those who still saying "WTF" after my explaination of what happened, please read before you post...

seriously, we are trying our best of abilities... I for one made the "buying/selling" guide for members to follow to minimize being ripped off, since people STILL doest use some common sense, I then setup the gggb section for members to use as a reference. I can only tell you so much on how to avoid being ripped off:wallbash:

timothyandygoh 09-11-07 08:37 AM

well, i hope the person who torched my FD gets caught. the PD says they have some leads. i hope he gets put away. because no one has the right to do something like that. = )

at least now we'll see how the insurance settles this. the mpg on my fd was terrible anyways, averaging almost 10mpg on high ways. -_- and i barely boost with stock tiwns too. can u imagine that?

wahts full tank of the fd? 16 gallons? or 14?
