Concerns about erasing threads

I'm all for getting rid of out-of-date information; however, I am not so certain that you can quantify how up-to-date something is by its calender age. If we want to save space on the server we should be consolidating useful information and getting rid of what is useless or redundant - not throwing away data simply because it hasn't been bumped in 9 months.

Apparently all of my years of feedback has been erased because it was over 9 months old leaving me with exactly zero feedback. lol. Is there any way that this information can be restored and consolidated into one thread? As of now buyers are not able to use the good guy forum to verify that I am a credible seller even though I have bought, sold and traded on this site for years.

Also, my Noltec motor mount write-up has been erased without notice; this is something that took many hours to put together and I'm quite frankly not going to have the time to do again any time soon (in retrospect, I should have backed it up).

The mods are doing a great job; however, I do see this cleaning method as detrimental to the stock of information on this site. If we're running out of space perhaps additional storage space is in order?

Rob,

The threads in the BG/GG forum were originally erased from misdirection by admim apparently. They are not ever supposed to be erased and should not be affected again.

As far as a write up goes. The best thing to do if you have a really good write up is pm the mod that is assigned to your particular forum and ask if they will archive it for you.

It's a bit too late to do anything now, but your advice is well taken none the less.

So am I understanding correctly that there is nothing that can be done to restore deleted feedback?

I am having difficulty with install of noltec motor mounts and am also very disappointed that Rob's write-up has been deleted
