Buyer Beware: Rotory Restorations (ebay Store) Bryn Park

The Sellers name is Bryn Park. He does business under the name of rotory restorations. I purchased a set of S5 N/A engine rotors w/ a counterweight. He gave me a shipped price with no mention of insuring the package or not. I always insure parts so I assumed since he actually had an ebay store he would be reputable enough to do the same. But the issue really wasn't a shipping one anyway. The issue was with the packaging. The items were In good shape before he packaged them like a moron. He packed them in a single small Delta Faucet box (thin carboard) with the exterior of the box padded with dirty seat foam about an inch thick. The rotors were placed right next to each other with nothing between them accept a plastic bag which I assume was to keep the oil from oozing out the box becauseit offered no protection at all. And to top that off, He put the un wrapped counterweight directly under one of the lobes a the rotor. Needless to say when the box was unpackaged I found that the counterweight smashed the apex seal groove shut on a corner and put a gouge in another spot rendering the rotor a paperweight. when I asked him how he would like to handle this. He basically said to bad you didn't choose insurance. But I can sell you another one at a discount (which no doubt would have been damaged as well due to his packaging prowess) I did not get a chance to choose or not to choose insurance He gave me a shipped price of $290.00 What he couldn't afford to take the $2.50 out of it for insurance! My reply to him was that I found another rotor locally and I want him to refund my account $80.00 which I thought was a very fair offer considering what I paid him for the rotors and front CW. This was three days ago. I have yet to get even a counter offer from this moron. My Ebay feedback is 89 and 100% spotless I've sold items on here and on ebay without any issues whatsoever. So please believe me when I say DO NOT BUY FROM THIS GUY.

Sounds like it's time to file a paypal/ebay complaint. When you show the item was severely damaged you should probably be awarded at least a partial refund. Even if you don't get anything, you get the satisfaction that you're putting a hold on that $290, tying up that amount until the issue is resolved by paypal one way or another.

Damn, if he's getting $300/set for NA rotors then I am definitely too cheap. I see him constantly bidding on shit on ebay and then putting it in his store for unreasonable prices. Do people actually buy this stuff? Like, a stock turbo manifold for 100 bucks.

It is not that you are too cheap, but that he is. Bryn is very dishonest person who thinks that he is better than everyone who dwells in this cumminity. I have commented before about this. I did my part in warning others to save them the greif of dealing with him. My 0.02

The guy sounds like a total asshole, who the hell would pack parts like that?

Brian: I just got a message that has me concerned. I do not know who this guy Bryn Park is, but he is using MY business name of Rotary Restorations! This is a federally-registered LLC that I have and it is also the name of my eBay store. Please help me catch/stop this crook. I would appreciate any and all information you have on this guy so that I can put a stop to him, including his address, please.
Thank You in advance for your assistance.

His ebay username is actually rx7 restorations, not rotary.

But uh...dude, he's been doing this for about 4 or 5 years now. You just now noticed?

Just go to ebay and search by bidder and you'll easily find him. He is also a member of this forum who rarely posts.

I have his address if you need it.

Correction

Sorry about the mistake with the name. I should have double checked the store name. I am just so frustrated with Morons trying take advantage of our small niche of hobbiests. i didn't purchace through Ebay I contacted him through Ebay and then email. I know I overpaid for the rotors, but I wanted the matching counterweight as well and he had it. I needed it fast. My motor (393 Hp @12 psi S4) broke an apex and corner seal at Willow Springs Raceway a few weeks ago. (ran out of fuel on the main straight) I wanted to re-build it with NA rotors to get a bit more grunt on the low end. It was kind of a last minute desicion. I wanted to have the rotors so the car could make a TT at Button Willow Raceway this weekend. well that ain't happening. This is why I didn't mind paying $290.00 for rotors w/ CW. But this guy seems to take advantage of us in the rotary community. It really isn't about the money to me. It is the principle. I have integrity and expect others in our community to have some integrity as well. Even if these were insured. Wouldn't it be fraud to make a claim against the insurance when the packer is at fault. Is it the shipping companies fault If I sent a crystal vase in a box with no packing material? Should a sane person expect it to arrive unbroken? I don't think so. To me two wrongs do not make a right. I'd eat the loss before I scammed the shipping company. A scam is a scam.
Well for an update on the motor. I found another rotor so it is built and I'll put in in the car tonight. That is the good news in all of this. Tomorrow the motor will be purring and soon shooting 4ft flames on the race track scareing all the drivers that don't know what a rotary engine can do! Thanks for all your support and comments. i am currently working with My CC company and Paypal to get a partial refund.

Kevin, wasn't this the guys from GA that said he's "fixed" many of your engines?

Supposedly, yeah.

I started giving the guy hell a few years back, when he was coming on the forums charging $200 for stock, used S4 front bumpers, and whatnot. His prices have always been outrageous, and when approached, he retreats into the same flawed logic.

"As long as someone is willing to pay the price, I'll gladly charge it."

Meh whatever... :dunno:

Yeah, come to think of it this is the dude with the 10 thousand dollar near-stock turbo convertible that didnt look as good or have as many mods as the one I sold 3 years ago for $7500. :ugh2:

He had it at NOPI last year along with a pickup truck that looked like a fucking red cross vehicle and said something about "rotary doctor" on the side. It looked real good sitting a few spots down from my Denali full of TV's on 24s. :rlaugh:
