Using the power fc commander

Hi

I have a power Fc and I could not figure out how to use the injection data. If anyone can explain how to lean out or enrich my car your help would be greatly appreciated

I have 550cc primary's
And 1300cc secondary's

My gauge says my car is running rich however my exhaust is clean

Anyone's opinion would help

Andrew

I have a prosport gauge so I don't think my gauge is broken

Tem120 08-06-12 02:22 PM

what is rich .. what is lean when and where which rpm which load .

do you have a datalogic? probably not otherwise youd be linking logs LOL

I foresee a rebuild thread in the making.

Changing the afr can cause problems if you are not sure what you are doing. It is not a piston engine, and the prosport gauge you have is not the right setup for logging data. You would also benefit from a datalogit if you wanted to change the tune.

I am guessing but when you say you are lean, do you mean when you let off the gas, and the gauge goes red?

Rich being 11 to 1 10 to 1
And lean being 17 to 1 and sometimes when I let off the gas 20 to 1

Yes, the gauge usually starts blinking after I let Off the throttle

Iirc the gauge you have is difficult to read in smaller increments. For example 11.2 vs 11.0

Depending on where you are in the boost those afr's do not sound that rich to me. On deceleration I (think) it is again common for it to go leaner since you are slowing the rpm's down. It won't need much fuel during deceleration.

Thats my guess but I. Am sure there are many more qualified people to advise here.

Have you changed the secondary injector size from 850 to 1300 in the settings section?

This was my old car. It was tuned locally by the wird. It was setup correctly for the 1300 secondarys.

thewird 08-10-12 10:41 AM

Leave the tune alone...

When I drove the car, the tune was perfectly fine except at WOT at high RPM where the fuel pressure would start dropping causing the AFR to go lean (12 AFR), not rich. I suggested you change the relay to a higher amperage rating as it was steaming hot and was likely the cause of the fuel pressure drop.

The relay was changed and oh yeah double j this is your old car lol I forgot your account name

What would be causing a weird reading then?

Double_J 08-10-12 03:45 PM

Did you use a higher amperage relay? If not I have an extra.

I wouldn't worry about the prosport saying you are lean on decel. I would only be concerned if it was reading lean while under boost. You might need to calibrate the wideband again but I'd have more faith in Marco's wideband as his sensors are swapped for fresh ones regularily.

fd3sguyy 08-11-12 02:12 PM

Yeah I have a 60/80 amp relay now

Alright thanks for the info I'm going to contact marco and see If he can hook up his wideband

Andrew I just had a thought. I had the pump rewired a long time ago (at a shop while they did some other stuff) and I can not remember seeing a new wire under the hood. If you lift up the carpet in the back a new (often thicker gauge) wire is used to deliver the power.

If a new wire was not run to the front or maybe its simply too small of a wire that also could explain the drop in fuel pressure when it gets hot.

Thanks Joe I'll take a look at it, if I were to change that wire that runs to the front what gauge would you recommend?

Double_J 08-19-12 07:20 PM

I am going to take the lazy way out and just link two threads since I can not remember the gauge lol
