Using only primary injectors
 

Is it possible to run only 2 injectors with the PFC?
Seems to me you should be able to just never send a signal to the sec injectors ?

The reason for me asking ,is that have an FC NA, and if i can upgrade to two ID 850 or ID 1000 insted of four ID 725, that would save me some money(withous having to use lesser quality injectors), and make things simpler if i buy a weber intake and fit two 49mm tb's.

*** The injectors i have now are low imp, and i have the banzai harness and stock FC resistor box, so i need to change all injectors to high imp at the same time.

No reason you can't try.
The software just allowed me to put in 0 for the secondary's size with transition at 100 %.

You can bypass the resistors on the FC Resistor pack and run 2 lo's and 2 hi's if you want.(I did)

Actually with the stock harness(that has the Resistor connector) you can pretty well do what you want.
If you need to run LO's you can do that by bypassing the Pack all together and just use the harness and the Injectors..and the PFC.
Shoot..just to add,I am not a PFC guy..I just did that when I ran different injectors on a FC TII.

That was what i was thinking too, but since i have a very limited understanding of the pfc (and engine management in general for that sake), i felt it was best to ask before i bought new injectors and fpr.

Follow up question: Does the transition % mean that when the pri inj is at X% the sec injectors will come on line?

Yes. It will actually allow more than 100%.

Just ordered two ID1000's and AEM fpr. So when they arrive in Norway i will find out if it will work or not :)

changed in the ID 1000.

Removed the resistance box and mounted the fpr and injectors.
Altered the settings in "settings 5" for the ID1000 and set base fuel pressure to 43,5psi/3 bar.

Car fired right up the first time, idled good for a little while and then it just died like someone flipped a switch. Tried to fire it up and could not get it to start again. Hooked up the battery charger and went inside to grab something to eat, when i came back out it fired up again, ran for a minute or something and then died again. Waited for a little while and then i was able to fire it up again, and it ran for a minute or two before it died again.

So here is what i'm thinking:
Injectors: must be wired correctly since the car sometimes runs.

Fpr: holds pressure at around 3bar, so i believe it's working just fine, wich also means that fuel pump and filter should be good.

Since it helps waiting a while i'm thinking that something either needs to cool down in order for the car to run, did not have this problem before changing the injectors.
While changing the injectors the only two things i removed where the resistor box and the variable resistor (wich isn't needed anymore from what i can tell)


So if anybody have any advice it would be good.

got it startet up two more times, with about a 30min break in between. Logged, and it stops when the watertemp hits 50. Seems like the fuel supply just stops.

Decided to mount the sec injectors back in and now it works, seems like the power fc won't run only 2 injectors.

I tried setting the injector size to 0 with the sec injectors hooked up, but that made the problem come back.
