power fc etc screen interpretation

Hello all, My 94 Rx7 wouldn't start (actually it also died while going over railroad tracks). I've been reading posts for hours here. Probably clutch switch or starter cut relay...question I have is the power fc commander gives the following screen (nothing changed as I put the clutch in or out).
I've no no no idea about the solid o's vs the non-filled in o's...nor what all the three letter abbreviations could be... could someone point me to a resource for interpreting this? |
When you say it doesn't start, what exactly is it doing? That reminds me, I need to update my Power FC thread with the description of what all those symbols mean.

In case of the AC item.....
Solid O's means that item is on. (which i know of bc of the infamous AC Problem with the Power FC) Blank O's mean that it is off. |

Also, it seems to have fixed 2 other things but I'm not sure how. 1) the key orange light now turns off (before it was annoyingly on as soon as I opened the door after removing the key and would drain the battery -- I only drive my rx every couple weeks) 2) RPMs more stable between shifts and at stops. Before it would drop below 700 and sometimes even die. Now it doesn't drop that low and I feel more confident that it won't die. Thanks ALL!! |
The next mod is to remove and bypass the clutch switch at the bottom of the unit.
I never had problems with starting a manual transmission car before they put in all these "safety" devices made for the dump masses. Of course, the starter cut relay is part of the alarm system. I have seen a few cars with normal working alarms that for some reason would not energize the relay for starting even though there wasn't any alarm. I have been using sealt belts since they first came out in the 60s. So, bypass the seatbelt alarm also! |
