Power FC commander not working?

Hi everyone. I got the random itch to drive my car today (1st time in 2+ years) and noticed that the display on my power fc commander isn't working anymore. I've had it since 2002 so it may be time for a new one but has anyone else had this issue before and is there a hack for this or should i just buy a new one?

Last time mine did that I just had to unplug the commander and plug it back in.

I have a used commander that has a scratch on the face of the display I'll let go if you're looking for a cheap option.

maybe someone can help me...?
i purchased a used PFC version FD3S4 for my RHD 93 but the commander that came with it FCC3 doesn't turn on at all, i figure the commander is the wrong one, although some people say it should work.

anyone have a definitive answer??, i opened the commander and the brown wire is connected so i figure it should turn on at least to the apexi screen correct?

FCC3 is correct for the FD3S4. Check for 5V on the Din-5 connector that the commander plugs into.

its a din 5
apparently this can happen....?? for some reason the commanders are 'linked' to the original PFC.

did a test and plugged my original commander into another FD3S4 pfc and it worked, so i tried the 2nd commander and it also worked. so we switched the commanders
weird....

The commanders are not linked to the PFC -- the only difference in commanders was they changed the communications protocol between the early PowerFCs and the later PowerFCs -- early commanders don't work with the later series.

okay that explains it... thanks

so i installed the new PFC and it worked, turned on and ran, start up procedure everything is fine. the next day i go to start it again and the dash lights flicker while a loud clicking is can be heard under the intake manifold when key is in ON position. attempt starting the car and it runs like garbage very rich and leaking fuel on the ground, the loud clicking i hear sounds like a fuel injector and would indicate why i was 'flooding' out.
swap out pfc for stock unit and the car runs fine. so knowing the pfc is more sensitive to issues and the stock ecu masks issues, i now imagine that there is a ground fault or loose/ broken wire on something/ somewhere. the voltage screen on the commander showed the water temp sensor fluctuating a milli volt? weird....
car is jdm so i did not cut any wires for the install, also there was a turbo timer installed which i removed,

I'm guessing I should i start at the ecu harness and look for anything obvious...... anyone ever had this issue before? advice is appreciated.

okay so i found the problem, looks like someone put a vampire clamp on the wiring harness 2B wire which fatigued it to break.... data link cog ignition term. soldered it back, fixed now.

okay so edit. Still getting the flickering but it is only related to temperature. The commander shows 200 rpm when not running {key ON} and cold. This tells me it must be the CAS wiring or thermo sensor telling the ecu to inject fuel. Runs like garbage when starting... pig rich.
something isnt right. Stock ecu runs perfect. These are my assumptions....Any chance anyone knows where to start.
