PFC Oil Metering Pump Control

I noticed a last week that on the sensor screen of my PFC commander the oil metering pump voltage cell is blinking and I only get .89V regardless of engine rpm or load.. It does not blink when the engine is not running but the key is on. I’ve been breaking in my rebuilt engine and running about 1.25-1.5 oz of premix per gallon so I fell OK that there is no engine damage (yikes, good thing I was premixing heavy).. Last weekend I decided the easiest method to determine if the oil metering pump was bad or if it was the PFC was to swap the stock ECU back in; everything I read said I should get a check engine light and the ECU would go into limp mode (fuel cut above 3 krpm) if the oil metering pump was bad. Well, I got no check engine light; drove about 10 mi and did a few full boost pull to 6 krpm without issue. Anyone seen a PFC oil metering drive circuit failure? Anyone know where/how to fix? I believe I’ve read/heard somewhere that the oil metering pump is still injecting about 50% of the required oil for full throttle high rpm loads?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

Glenn

When you got your PFC was it new or used? Most of the bad PFCs were bought used.
Loose wiring or improper grounding can cause problems.
If your engine still has the original engine harness, that is a very bad decision.

I installed a new engine harness so it is good; PFC was purchased used though. Car has a clean/great condition OEM grounds and three additional OO engine grounds. So there was an issue with some PFC? Anywhere/anyone know how to fix?

Thanks,

if the PFC or other ecu has a fault with the EOMP it will still deliver oil
.. just at the rate at which the stepper motor has "parked" it at before it ( or the ecu ) failed

the feedback loop on the FC and the FD is simply a 0-5V signal from the position sensor
and it is suggesting the PFC is seeing no change in the position of the motor

this could be a faulty signal, 5v or earth wires that plug into the PFC in the parts that are not common in the circuit when the normal ecu is substituted

or it may be that the output map in the PFC is set to this value ( IE.. blank map )

I have reset the map with no change; this truly reset everything, right? How would I check t see if the output map is set to this value?

Thanks again,

Glenn
