PFC multiple map options
Can someone confirm that the PFC can only hold 1 map? Is there a fast solution to flip between 2 maps, like a piggyback mod? or is the only way to swap out maps with a datalogit?
what ecu's can hold multiple maps? |

what ecu's can hold multiple maps? https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1314376097 The closest thing I know of with "fast map switching" to change larger portions of the calibration are some flash programmers for newer cars. But I think the Nitrous options on the EMS will accomplish what you want to accomplish. You could use the nitrous control for a separate fuel and timing map even if you don't actually trigger anything with it. And you could wire it up so that one physical switch also triggers a high/low boost control map within the EMS. You'd just have to run wires to both inputs. Be advised... this is going to be complicated and time consuming. You're going to have to set it up yourself or pay someone knowledgeable with both Rx-7's and the AEM EMS for many hours of labor. |
thanks for the info arghx you always pull through with a ton of knowledge!
I ask because i want to run my wg spring (10psi) as my daily map with my 3" exhaust then at low and high boost dump it out of my 4" midpipe to by pass the 3" but i dont want the car running too lean/rich |

Link G4 RX has dual map settings. My cousin has a 370 Z and he has a setup where he can chose between 5 different map settings using his factory cruise control. It's pretty insane what some of the hacked stock ECU's can do these days.

Just have a high and low boost setting on your boost controller with the same map >_>. Why so complicated.

and with the datalogit you can setup a switch that toggles from 2 boost settings, I used the fog lights switch.
It feels like KITT when pressing Pursuit! lol |

You could wire up a single fog light switch to raise boost, switch on water/meth, and some kind of cutout at the same time. So yeah it would be like your little ///M button.
Of course you could do all this with the AEM EMS and have more control. But then you have the cost in time and money of switching computers. |
Not sure if this is a simmilar but my car was tuned for 18-19psi but i run a constant street boost of 15psi with no problems and room for boost spike .. I also switch over to a manual boost controller because the digital controller was crap. In my opinion the digital boost controller are nice and cool looking but i like to be simple and i found out my solenoid was not working properly... The manual boost controller has not failed me yet and it always works...

i dont think you guys are understanding... its not just low and high boost. i have a boost controller for that.
i want my 10psi (wastegate spring) to be with my 3" exhaust. low boost 14psi and high boost(?) will be dumped out of my midpipe whihc is 4" hence 2 seperate maps. i dont want to run lean/rich when i swich exhaust (i intend to use a electric cut out switch) |
You do realize the change in A/F will be hardly any? Just tune it with the 4" and done. And since when is 14 PSi high boost o.O, thats the minimum for most single setups lol.

thewird hahah youre really busting my chops arent you... low boost 14psi and high boost(?) will be dumped out of my midpipe whihc is 4" |
Going from 2.75" exhaust (3" downpipe to 2.75" flange) to full 4", there was no difference until high RPM and it was only like 0.1-0.2. Just tune it with the cutout open and dont worry about it being closed.

awesome, thanks a lot wird!
