PFC Commander Connector
Having seen a very nice serial plug mounted on the kickpanel for a Datalogit, i want to do something similar for my commander. Say... when i'm going in for smog, or in the bad section of town, letting a valet take it, etc.
It looks like a ps/2 but i haven't looked at it recently (it's icy out there). anyone know the answer? |
When I extended mine, I used a PS/2 extension lead but snipped one of the pins (offer them up, you'll see which one needs to go). Worked fine.

I did this right after doing the USB connector for mine. Here's what I used to make it with.

Started with the Gotham bracket, cut off most of the main tab on the back and bolted a cigarrette lighter adapter plug with internal wires removed to the back. So the bracket plugs into the cigarrette lighter socket and places the command screen in a perfect position for viewing while driving. I was planning on running the cable under the dash semi-permanently, but now I am thinking I should make it easily removed with a PS/2 socket like you are showing. |
The PFC uses a Mini DIN-5 connector while a PS/2 is a Mini DIN-6.
|
Now, my question is how do you get the bolts recessed like that?
|
Optical illusion!
|
Mini DIM-6 works just as well. The trim piece is the PS Kick pannel, where the ECU is located. I'll take a picture of it installed tomorrow morning and post. And yes, it's an optical illusion though I was thinking of counter sinking them but in all honesty, when it's installed you can't even see them.

Oh that's nice! Looks very good! I like it! You're right it's very easy to see form the driver's position! If I didn't have an engine start button there I would do the same as you did.
