Min injector pulsewide and idle AFR
Hi,
I am having stock RX7 with Power FC and Datalogit. Now I am curious about the idle AFR because I could not rise it above 12 even if I lover the correction value under the InjMap. I have stock injectors, no airpump therefore I turn of the O2 feedback. When I change the correction values from 1.200 to 1.000 I manage to risen the AFR from around 11.3 to 12.2. After that the AFR under the idle did not change. I manage to lover the InjFrPr form around 3.0 to 2.56, which I found it is the lowest value. The engine is warmed up to over 80C. Can someone explain me what is the lowest value of injector pulsewide? Is this 2.56? And this is the reason why I cannot lean out the idle? How can I lower the injector pulse? I cannot figure it out why there is 1.318 ms written in the BaseMap if the lower value is 2.56, I presume it is 2.56 ms. Thank you very much. |
2.56 is about right. that's the minimum the ECU will allow for some reason.
There is a fresh air hose that goes to the lower intake manifold to help with the primary injection (atomization port). Is that still hooked up or is it blocked? |
I removed the air pump and blocked all the ports. Is this extra air hose connected through the air pump? Otherwise I did not notice some extra air hose in the lower intake manifold.
I played with the injector lag time and when I reduced it I manage to lean out the idle. But with that I lean out the entire map which I do not want to do. I would like to keep the stock settings for the injectors untouched. Is there some other way? |

That is a service manual explanation. This thread has some pics: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...broken-973106/ |
I blocked off that air bleed with gasket. I was curious what it was lol. Do you think I should open it back up with the stock brown plastic injector cradle? I took mine out.
|
Don't block it off. Not sure what the best way is for your setup, but don't block it off.

Thanks for explanation. Is this the air hose, that supply the air to the primary injectors? As I remember it is connected to the Y-pipe and I did not plug it. But I will check the hose again.

Yes that is it, and is normally connected to the "Y pipe". Even at idle, the hose will have light pressure in it instead of vacuum.
