installing FD IAT in my s5
 

do i have to retap the threads to install it, or is there an alternate option? i have the adapter kit for the fc from banzairacing.

◾You can install the IAT Sensor in the stock location by re-tapping the hole (M10 x 1.25 thread). Remove intake elbow from vehicle in order to prevent any metal shavings from dropping into your engine.

does anyone know if you can use the fd iat w/ the stock s5 ecu?

You can not, otherwise it would not be a requirement to install the FD IAT when using the PFC.

so then after i install this kit of yours, i wouldnt be able to go back to stock ecu without making a new, stock iat sized, hole?

like, i just bought a used AP engineering power fc. if it doesnt work for whatever reason, would i be able to go back to my normal s5 ecu easily?

AP PFC requires the FD IAT. If you are worried about your used PFC not working just plug the sensor in but don't mount it until you have verified the PFC is good.

The AP comes with it's own adapter, so I do not know why you bought our kit.

i bought the iat sensor and bar sensor without the harness adapter actually, not the whole kit. the prior user didnt include the other necessary parts.

appreciate the advice though. i think ive read in some threads about removal of the AFM when installing the power fc. is that necessary or recommended?

The AFM is not needed. You do need a datalogit to set up the map sensor. The installation instructions would be the same as on our site just do not do the coil modification and you do not have the ability to control an electric fan.

i plan on getting it tuned by scoot sports out here in japan. will it be drivable (to the tuner) without setting this up until they can set it up for me?

any other initial setup tips as far as settings, or parts that become obsolete after i install that you know about?

It will not be driveable with the map sensor setup incorrectly. Take your car to them and have them do the PFC installation.

do you know if the map sensor settings for the AP engineering PFC is also

? i belive i saw you recommend this as the setting for someones map sensor. just making sure it applies in my scenario as well.

Map sensor scale and offset for a particular map sensor does not change from PFC to PFC, however the the numbers do change depending on which Datalogit you have.

the FD and FC sensors are opposite. there is a name for them, but one reads high to low, and the other low to high.

if you're taking it to Scoot, why not let them do it, they know more than we do about the PFC.
