Does lag required for oem 550&ID2200
Hey like the title said do I need to update my lag setting, or what are the correct setting or transition time I have use?

For the stock 550 primaries use the stock Settings 5 values for injector setup and lag table.
For the ID2200s, change 850 to 2225 and use the ID lag info to redo the secondary inj lag table. |
I don't have the ID lag info, also the transition time I have is set at 35 is that normal?

I suggest using .20 lag time for the 2200s, and you can use 35 and .100 . I had to use more lag time with the 2200s than what they suggest to get my afr's in check.

Since you have a PC, you could go to the ID site and download the info which is posted there.:scratch:

I was using a .40 lag time with the 1680s and after putting the 2200s and recommended lag times my air fuel ratios were way too lean. I started off adding fuel to the fuel map and then realized it was much easier and better to just add lag time because that increases the on time of the injector.

So basically your now running the incorrect lag time because you didn't want to take the time to modify your fuel map?
The end result works the same as far as fueling concerned but now your injectors are firing 0.20ms sooner then they should. You add lag time (over stock settings) to the 1600's cause they're slow to open, especially when we use the resister method. thewird |
I Was using more than the actual lag time of the 1680s so I added that same additional amount to the lag time of the 2200s to get my Afr looking good again, then worked on the map some more. I think it was .28 was the actual lag time of the 1680s so I figured it was best or easiest to add .12 lag time to the lag time of the 2200s and it worked out good.

Has anyone ever figured how to test lag and its affect on fuel timing into the ports?
If lag is way too soon or way too late, fuel will puddle in the intakes. Then when the port opens again, instead of a nice mist, it will be more liquid flowing on the walls. Results is poorer combustion. |
That would be something good to test but I have no idea how one would go about it. That's why I prefer keeping injector timing as accurate to stock values since they obviously tested that.
