datalogit question
Ok so I'm still new at this datalogit stuff. But I do know how upload and download and simple stuff. I uploaded a 3rd gen the other day. Just to see what the maps were like to compare them with others. And I noticed his fan on temperatures were high. Fan 1 no a/c 110, Fan 1 a/c 95, Fan 2 120. So I lowered them and download to his Power FC. My question is does a download with the datalogit restart the relearn idle process. He said after I downloaded it revved to 3000 rpm then down to 1000 3 or 4 times. Is the PFC doing its relearn or is this a Idle ACV or AWS acting up? Now I have done this to 2 other 3rd gens and neither of them have had a problem with their Idle. But I do know for a fact those two have the AWS removed. But am unsure if this 3rd gen in question has it in place still.

A rewrite can do that as the name of the action describes the function.
That is why there is an UPDATE which only chnages what was changed. |
Resetting the idle learn procedure requires you to reset the whole Power FC, either through the commander or the DL. Just save the map, perform a reset, then upload the map back in (write all). Idle surges are caused by a bunch of stuff, either a vacuum leak, a misadjusted throttlebody, or bad tuning.

I was wondering what that Update button does. Thanks cewrx7r1. So hitting Write All is like sending a Reset All through the hand held commander?

Resetting the PFC in the commander is the equivalent of using the "initialize the PFC" function on the datalogit menu. "Write all" copies every setting in the datalogit screens to the PFC, overwriting whatever is there. But it does not reset the idle learn procedure like the reset procedure does.

Thanks RR |
Idle control only uses the O2 sensor and air pump if the O2 FB switch is turned on.
