Changing the battery
Sorry if this is a silly question. Does changing your battery reset your PFC? Or does everything remain the same after I swap in my new battery and start the car up?

The map does not go away but the PowerFC learning may be reset which isn't a big deal.

I was also wondering if I will loose my past year's map with my battery out while doing my rebuild!
Not that the map will be correct anymore due to porting, but at least I know it should idle decent enouph to work with it. Thanks! |
You will not lose your map because the PFC saves them into memory.
|
And to confirm is this the correct way to re-learn the idle?
Start Car, let it idle for approx 10 minutes before doing anything Turn on air-con, let it readjust its idle and wait about 10 minutes Turn on defroster (full heat), let it readjust its idle and wait about 10 minutes Afterwards I can drive the car. |
I thought it was rear defroster before AC but let the experts chime in!

Order doesn't really matter. They're 3 separate settings. IMO, if your car is running fine after battery change, don't bother going through the 30 minute procedure.
